What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is made up of three parts—a titanium or ceramic post, an abutment, and a restoration. Built to function like natural tooth roots, dental implants provide bone support and a stable foundation for a single dental crown, a dental bridge, a denture, or a full arch prosthesis.
Many patients are candidates for dental implants already or can qualify after receiving preparatory treatments like bone grafting and tooth extractions. Candidacy is more accurately determined after a comprehensive consultation and evaluation with an implant dentist.
The cost of dental implants is based on many factors, including how many teeth are missing and for how long, the types of materials used, and what additional procedures are needed. Our team can help you apply for dental financing and will file insurance claims on your behalf to help you afford treatment.
Dental implant treatment can range from a few months to over a year. In many cases, implants can be surgically placed soon after the consultation and treatment plan are complete. For patients needing bone grafting, this may be a separate procedure requiring several months of healing before dental implant surgery. After dental implants are placed, healing can take 3+ months before optimal integration is achieved and a final restoration can be permanently attached. In many cases, patients can wear a temporary restoration during healing.
Dental implants are designed to last for decades and have the potential to last for the rest of your life. Surgical technology and clinical experience, along with your health habits, ultimately affect the longevity of your implants. Choosing an experienced implant team like ours at i-Implant Dentistry provides more precise and accurate surgery that better guarantees the long-term success of your treatment.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are the number one solution for replacing damaged or missing teeth. They consist of a titanium post surgically placed in your jawbone, a healing abutment, and a crown. By assuming the role of the missing tooth root, a dental implant prevents further bone deterioration and undesirable facial changes, while stimulating new bone growth. Dental implants in Roseville, MN are designed to look, feel and function like your natural teeth so you can follow a normal oral hygiene routine and eat, smile, and socialize without feeling self-conscious.

Full-Mouth Dental Implants

We offer All-on-4 dental implants that rely on a minimum of four strategically placed implants per arch to support a full-mouth prosthesis. With this streamlined approach, bone grafting can often be bypassed. In many cases, Dr. Bassas can extract remaining teeth, perform minimally invasive dental implant surgery and fit patients with temporary teeth, all on the same day! After the sites heal and the dental implants fuse with your underlying jawbone, you’ll receive a permanent prosthesis that fully restores your smile function and beauty.

Dental Crowns & Bridges

Dental crowns and bridges have a long, clinically proven track record for restoring damaged teeth and missing teeth, respectively. A dental crown is a tooth cap that fits over a natural tooth that has been compromised due to cracks, extensive fillings, severe decay, or root canal therapy. Dental crowns are also sometimes used to improve the size, shape, and color of teeth so they look more aesthetically pleasing. A dental bridge is used to close a gap left by a missing tooth, with a false tooth supported by crowned teeth on each side. When you get a crown or bridge in Roseville, MN, it will improve your ability to eat, speak and socialize with comfort and confidence.
