A Tried and True Method for
Restoring Damaged Smiles

Severely damaged or decayed teeth can cause sensitivity, lead to significant pain, and/or cause a hit to your self-esteem due to cosmetic imperfections. A dental crown is used to restore the original form and function of a tooth with a weakened structure caused by cracks, large fillings, or a root canal. A dental bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth and is considered the next best thing if you aren’t a candidate for dental implants.

To help you decide the most optimal restorative solution to fit your needs, our prosthodontist Dr. Saad Bassas will discuss different options, along with the pros and cons of each. When you choose i-Implant Dentistry to make your smile whole again, Dr. Bassas combines an artistic eye with extensive restorative skills to create natural-looking tooth crowns and dental bridges in Roseville, MN that will restore your smile function, beauty, and confidence!

Dental Crowns Protect Damaged Teeth

A dental crown is a fixed tooth cap crafted from porcelain or zirconia that covers a compromised tooth to reinforce and restore its structural integrity while preserving as much of the natural tooth structure as possible. Tooth preparation requires the removal of decay, old filling material, and enough tooth structure on the chewing surface and sides to ensure a good fit. Digital impressions are taken of your tooth that we send out to a specialized dental lab to create your new crown.

During the same visit, Dr. Bassas fabricates a temporary composite crown that you’ll wear until the final crown comes back from the dental lab. During your second visit, he checks to make sure the crown fits securely and your bite is properly restored. Before permanently cementing the crown in place, he’ll ask you to bite down on a thin piece of colored paper. This occlusal adjustment helps eliminate any high points that can interfere with your bite and cause gum irritation.

Dental Bridges Fill Gaps Left by Tooth Loss

A missing tooth can cause shifting of surrounding teeth, an increased risk of decay and gum disease, and an uncomfortable change to your bite. A dental bridge typically consists of two crowns placed on abutment teeth on either side of the empty space. The false tooth (pontic) fills the gap and is connected to the crowned teeth. A dental bridge eliminates unsightly smile gaps while enabling you to chew, eat, speak, and smile without inhibition. The process for creating dental bridges is similar to crowns and we’ll provide a temporary bridge that you’ll wear until the permanent one is ready. Although a bridge prevents remaining teeth from shifting and altering your bite, bone loss continues in the empty space under the false tooth because the missing root isn’t replaced. As such, we also offer implant-supported crowns and dental bridges that prevent bone deterioration and promote new bone growth.

An Affordable Option for
Restoring a Picture-Perfect Smile

While dental crowns and bridges are generally an economical choice, the cost is based on the material used to fabricate the crown, the tooth being treated, the complexity of the procedure, the need for additional procedures (e.g., root canal or periodontal treatment), and sedation fees. Dr. Bassas understands that every patient has unique needs, so he takes the time to carefully consider your health, medical history, smile goals, and budget before recommending treatment. Each porcelain crown or bridge is custom-made to deliver maximum function, optimal appearance, and comfort. In addition to decades of expertise creating beautiful crowns and bridges in Roseville, MN, we offer highly competitive pricing at i-Implant Dentistry and partner with third-party dental financing companies Proceed Financing and CareCredit.
